Maharaja Sayajirao College Of Baroda (MSU Baroda) is probably the best college in Gujarat. It was established in the year 1881 as Baroda School and renamed as the Maharaja Sayajirao College of Baroda in the year 1949. It is affirmed by the College Awards Commission (UGC) and licensed by the National Evaluation and Accreditation Committee (NAAC). The college offers UG, PG and Doctorate courses in different streams. There are around 20 courses offered at both UG and PG level and 29 specializations for the Ph.D. program.

MSU confirmation is done based on state or national level selection tests score. For some courses, the college directs its passageway test while for certain courses, the choice is done based on up-and-comers marks acquired in the last qualifying tests.
Sayajirao was conceived at Kavlana, 10 March 1863 as Shrimant Gopalrao Gaekwad, the second child of Meherban ShrimantKashirao Bhikajirao [Dada Sahib] Gaekwad.
He was chosen by the English Government as successor to Maharaja Malharrao Gaekwad and was as needs be received by Maharani Jamna Bai, on 27th May 1875. He climbed the Gadi (position of authority) at Baroda, sixteenth June 1875 yet being a minor ruled under a Committee of Regime until he grew up and was contributed with full decision powers, 28th December 1881.
