The JUIT was brought about by a joint vision of the Govt of Himachal Pradesh and the Author Administrator of Jaypee Gathering Shri Jaiprakash Gaur in 2000. The land was given on rent by the State Govt and the university was set up by Act No 14 of 2002 vide Phenomenal Paper Warning of the Govt of Himachal Pradesh dated May 23, 2002. Tech degree programs in Hardware and Correspondence Engineering, Software Engineering, Data Technology, Bioinformatics, and Biotechnology. Civil Engineering was included in July 2003. Other than B.
