Uttar Pradesh Textile Technology Institute (Prior known as Government Focal Textile Institute) , Kanpur is ahead material establishment of North India. It made an unobtrusive beginning in 1914. Anyway in 1937, Govt. Focal Material Foundation appeared in its current structure by the merger of two head material establishments for example one at Kanpur and the other at Roorkee for example Division of Material Technology, Thomson Civil Engineering College of Roorkee and two certificate program were begun in. At first, the Organization was subsidiary to Agra University yet on the foundation of the University in Kanpur in the year 1966 it got associated with Kanpur University. In the year 1976-77, the foundation spearheaded in beginning a multi-year degree program in Artificial Fiber technology. In 1985 the multi-year certificate Projects were moved to Government Polytechnic Kanpur and from that point, the organization has been running alumni and postgraduate Software engineers with Ph.D. research offices. The fourth-degree program in Material Engineering was included under World Bank helped Specialized Instruction Quality Improvement Program of Legislature of India and Administration of Province of Uttar Pradesh in 2005.
